Margaret ScottWhat’s your job?  My title is Director of Communications and Outreach for the College of Engineering at Boise State University. In addition to communications projects – alumni newsletter, faculty/staff and student online newsletters.

What do you do for fun? Anything on the water – canoes, kayaks, jet skis, jet boat, raft with a cooler…

What was your first “real” job?   After editing the Chico State University college paper, I was hired as a full time reporter for the Chico Enterprise-Record. My beats included local and county planning and zoning, a man on the street interview column, “youth page” editor, and features.

Margaret Scott with son DougAwards and accolades? When you have been writing as long as I have, some awards do come your way, and for those I am grateful.

Any interesting or milestone projects/experiences you’d like to share? I have been blessed with a truly great husband, career, children and lots of opportunities to travel. What else could I want?

Why CCC? In my seven years as a CCC member and board member, I have been inspired, impressed, and informed by my fellow members and friends. Our industry has changed exponentially and CCC helps me keep my skill set tuned up. I always leave a meeting or social event with at least one good idea.
