CCC Impact Awards Article

Last year, for the first time in its nearly 20-year history, Capital City Communicators sponsored an awards competition. Designed to empower members and non-members alike to show off their talent and earn peer recognition for their accomplishments, the IMPACT Awards was well received by Boise’s communication professionals.
Why another awards event?

When the board considered how it could add value to communication professionals in Boise, we noticed a gap. Somewhere between public relations and marketing, there is a category of communicators without a lot of opportunity for local recognition—the business communicator. The IMPACT Awards creates new categories to make sure business communicators have a place to showcase their work—and we welcome the PR and marketing types, too.
On April 29, we invite you to join us for the 2011 IMPACT Awards Dinner. Even if you didn’t compete, you’re sure to be wowed by the smart thinking, creativity and innovation of this year’s winners. The event kicks off with a cocktail hour and music at 6 o’clock at the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Center. Dinner’s at 7, with the awards presentation following.
You can register at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/1460322865. Bring your boss. Grab a client. Get together with communication peers you haven’t seen in a while. Join us for the IMPACT Awards Dinner and see who is joining the club of Boise’s legendary communicators. It could be you!
